If it wasn't I think I would have trouble with the amount of apples and bananas that our family eats. I am going to cover composting soon so please keep coming back as anything you can add would be great.
I love your blog by the way and what a great name. Thanks for popping over from Beansprouts.Almost Mrs Averagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03566374419318255177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1140894823591123770.post-36087532862406352572008-02-01T06:54:00.000+00:002008-02-01T06:54:00.000+00:00Hi. I understand that you want to reduce your food waste as much as possible, but there are some things, like stems and cores, that can't be eaten. Can you compost them instead of throwing them away?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1140894823591123770.post-5189158709234166742008-01-28T22:33:00.000+00:002008-01-28T22:33:00.000+00:00Hi Picklesmum - thanks for raising this point, esp...Hi Picklesmum - thanks for raising this point, especially as I'd previously assumed that anything that gets taken to the local amenity sites is for sorting in order to avoid sending things unnecessarily to the landfill. So I did panic, thinking that the effort that I'm making might be in vain.

However, I phoned the council this afternoon and they have reassured me that my initial presumptions were correct, much to my relief. I am hoping that I can get more information, which I can then share on the blog to reassure everyone else.

In the meantime, I'll keep on sorting. ;-DAlmost Mrs Averagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03566374419318255177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1140894823591123770.post-34329451229457046692008-01-28T14:23:00.000+00:002008-01-28T14:23:00.000+00:00I'm going to sound nit picky I know and I don't me...I'm going to sound nit picky I know and I don't mean to cause offence, but isn't it defeating the object taking stuff to the dump as it will end up in landfill site in the same way as if you put it in the black bin?Picklesmumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09652159544818433247noreply@blogger.com
